I was checking out the new Emarosa tunes yesterday when I noticed a comment from their keyboard player, Jordan. It seems they have been getting a bit of flack for dropping the screaming and breakdowns and instead making the most of their amazing vocalist, Jonny, formerly of Dance Gavin Dance.

The comment reads;
‘I’m not sure people realize this is the music that we want to make.

If we wanted to scream, we’d get a screamer. If we wanted to play breakdowns, we would. If we didn’t want to do everything in our bounds to challenge and push our self musically we’d settle and play utah forever.

For those who get it, I thank you.

We just write the music we want to write, you decide weather or not to listen.’
What a fantastic comment.

It really annoys me when people message me saying ‘add more screams’, ‘lose the screams’, ‘get rid of the electro’, ‘be less heavy’, ‘be more brutal’, etc…

If I wanted to do any of the above, don’t you think I would?!

Anyhow, I hope nobody else had to endure the fun of rail replacement buses yesterday.
